Womens Artistic Gymnastics
Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) is one of the most exciting and visually dynamic disciplines within the sport. Combining power, precision, and artistry, it challenges gymnasts to master strength and skill while performing with elegance and confidence.
This discipline incorporates four key apparatus:
Vault: Explosive sprinting, powerful take-offs, and controlled landings.
Asymmetric Bars: Upper-body strength and rhythm are developed through swinging, circling, and release skills.
Beam: Balance, flexibility, and concentration are tested on one of the most demanding pieces of apparatus.
Floor: A showcase of tumbling, dance, and performance skills, all set to music.
At West Dunbartonshire Gymnastics Club, we are proud to offer competitive training in Women’s Artistic Gymnastics. Gymnasts can take part in two pathways:
Women’s Artistic Floor & Vault: Focused competitive training on these two apparatus, ideal for developing confidence and performance quality.
Women’s Artistic 4 Piece: Full discipline training across vault, bars, beam, and floor for those looking to compete at a higher level.
To ensure the right level of commitment and readiness, gymnasts must be selected and complete a trial before joining one of our competitive squads.
This process helps us place athletes in the right pathway for their ability and ensures they receive the support, coaching, and training they need to succeed.
Our dedicated coaches provide structured programmes that focus on technical skill, strength, artistry, and competition readiness, giving every gymnast the chance to reach their potential in this challenging but rewarding discipline.
